Stately
Series
Overview
Our Stately Series
combines a large grilling area, a stainless-steel exterior
with angled lid, and two permanent side shelves.
These grills
plug into a
standard 120V wall socket (either
a 20A outlet or a dedicated 15A
outlet).
You may customize this grill with your choice of
sand-blasted images,
electronic welcome messages, and more.

Details
The Stately Series
is our most popular grill. The body and lid are made entirely
of
430
stainless
steel, the grates are 304 stainless steel, the
shelves, handle, and lid-stops
are
powder-coated
galvanneal, and the square-tubing legs are powder-coated steel.
Stainless
steel, galvanneal,
and powdercoat paint are all very durable materials and can withstand
harsh outdoor envirnoments; these grills should last a lifetime. You
can leave these outside and BBQ, grill, smoke, or bake
on them year-round, or grill inside your house with no smoke.
(A greasy grill may produce smoke if you set it
above 350
degrees.) Obviously, you should not use the smoker
capability indoors, unless you have a vent.
The
Stately
Series grills include electronic controls with AutoChef™
technology, dishwasher-safe grates and drip pan, dual cooking
levels (you can cook on both levels simultaneously), large 8" wheels,
and
a smoker-tray attachment. High quality grill covers are also
available.
Room-temperature preheat time is 10-12 minutes for
normal cooking temperatures (300 to 350). Note that
preheating is
only important when baking; we seldom preheat when grilling and never
when smoking.
Because the insulated walls absorb and re-radiate thermal
energy,
you may briefly open the lid without significant heat loss.
At
480 square inches of grilling area (240 per level), these are the
largest 120V grills available -- this is true even with one level!
If
you
use both levels, you have more grilling area than many 240V grills.
Power Requirements
Our standard Stately grills draw 1750 watts at 120
volts. An
1850 watt version is also available for those who desire more power (lets
hear those grunts!). With either version, you must have a grounded
outlet and in most instances, a GFCI
outlet. (GFCIs are required in kitchens and outdoor areas by the
NEC.
This government
fact sheet explains the
basic idea; additional info is available on Wikipedia.)
The 1850W (or 20 Amp) version can only use a 20A
outlet; make sure you have one before specifying it! The
1750W
(or 15 Amp) version has a standard 3-prong plug and can use either a 20A outlet or dedicated 15A outlet. The
1850 watt version preheats a bit faster than the 1750 watt version.
During the winter, this can make a difference of several
minutes in preheat time; cooking time is not affected.
Although
you could plug the 1750W grill into a 15A duplex outlet
(and
it will
likely work), you will not be in compliance with the NEC
unless the outlet is dedicated;
i.e., there are no other outlets on the same circuit. If you do
not
have an appropriate outlet, check out our Metro Series,
which can use any standard 110 or 120V outlet.
Options
and Accessories
Grill
Cover - High quality
vinyl cover fits neatly around grill; velcro strip snugs it firmly in
place. Many colors available (charcoal gray is the most
popular).
Sandblasting
- Artwork of your
choice etched into the lid or grill body. We have
many standard designs, or we can create a new one just for you.
Custom message - Add a unique message to the electronic
display (great for gifts!).
Extra Smoker Tray - Although one smoker tray produces a
tremendous amount of smoke (as much as we ever want), some prefer yet
more smoke.
Locking
casters - Maneuver
your grill into tight corners and lock it in place. (Adds 2-3 week
lead-time.)
Custom paint
job - Color of your
choice to match home decor.
(Requires significant lead-time.)
Shipping and Assembly
The
Stately grill comes in two boxes (one for the body and one for legs and
shelves). We use FedEx Ground and ship for free in
the continental US (a $120 value); you should have
your grill in a week or less, depending on your location.
Assembly
is fairly easy and takes an hour or less (20
minutes if you are
experienced). You will need basic tools, including a medium or large
Philips screwdriver, a 7/16 inch wrench, and a 5/16 inch nut driver.
If
you are in our area or you purchase from a local dealership, no
assembly is required.
