Metro Series
Overview
Designed primarily for apartments and
condominiums, our Metro Series
shines in areas with grilling restrictions. It's an electric BBQ grill
that is a safe alternative to gas or charcoal -- moreover, the cuisine
is healthier, more flavorful, and exceptionally juicy. Designed for
smokeless grilling, it also doubles as a quality smoker. In
the
smokeless mode,
it will not smoke up your apartment, the balcony, or the neighbors. By
allowing you to cook with both levels simultaneously, the Metro Series
maximizes grilling area (430 square inches) in a small package
(28" wide by 24" deep - outside dimensions). It uses a standard 120V
wall socket.
Details
The Metro Series
is our space-efficient grill/oven/smoker appliance.
It has
handles instead of shelves and a smaller body. The body and lid are
made entirely of
stainless
steel,
while the handles, legs, and lid-stops are powder-coated
galvanneal. Stainless
steel, galvanneal,
and powdercoat paint are all very durable materials and can withstand
harsh outdoor envirnoments. You can leave these outside and
cook
on them year-round, or grill inside with less
smoke than your oven. With the addition of a smoker tray and a
few
dry wood chips, these grills are also very capable smokers.
(When
smoking, use only outside or with a vent.)
The Metro Series
grills include electronic controls with AutoChef™
technology, dishwasher-safe grates, dual cooking
levels (you can cook on both levels simultaneously), large wheels, and
disposable drip pans. High quality grill covers and smoker
trays
are also
available.
Room-temperature preheat time
is 10-13 minutes for
normal cooking temperatures (300 to 350). Note that
preheating is
only important when baking; we seldom preheat when grilling and never
when smoking.
Because our insulated walls absorb and re-radiate thermal
energy,
you can briefly open the lid without losing much heat.
Except
for our other models, these are the
largest 120V grills -- even with one level. When using both
levels, you have more grilling area (430 square inches) than
many
240V grills (at a
fraction of the cost).
Power Requirements
These
grills draw approximately 12 amps at 120 volts for a total wattage of
1500 watts. They can use any standard 110 or 120V outlet.

Grill
Cover - High quality
vinyl cover fits neatly around grill; velcro strip snugs it firmly in
place.
Sandblasting
- Artwork of your
choice etched into the lid or grill body. We have
several standard designs, or we can create one just for you.
Smoker Tray - Create smoked delicacies -- just like the
pros, but with less work and better results.
Drip Pan - Options include stainless-steel or
disposable foil pans.
Custom message - Add a unique message to the electronic
display (great for gifts!).
Locking
casters - Maneuver
your grill into tight corners and lock it in place. (Requires 3-4 week
lead time.)
Custom
paint job - Color of
your choice to match home decor.
(Requires significant lead-time.)
Shipping and Assembly
The
Metro grill comes in one box. We use FedEx Ground and ship for
free in
the continental US (a $100 value); you should have
your grill in a week or less, depending on your location.
Assembly
is relatively easy and takes about an hour (30
minutes if you are
experienced). You will need basic tools, including a small and a medium
Philips screwdriver, a 7/16 inch wrench, and a 5/16 inch nut driver.
If
you are in our area or you purchase from your local dealership, no
assembly is required.
